Il Blackmagic Design BLM-CONVMOF12G gestisce contemporaneamente la conversione da SDI a fibra ottica e da fibra ottica a SDI, in entrambe le direzioni. I due percorsi possono trasportare anche standard video differenti, mentre le connessioni multirate 12G-SDI supportano formati e apparecchiature SD, HD e Ultra HD fino a 2160p 60.
Il convertitore è compatibile con dispositivi di livello A e B e può ospitare un modulo SFP standard per fibra ottica 3G, 6G o 12G-SDI. In questo modo il segnale SDI può viaggiare anche su cavi in fibra ottica economici, compresi quelli normalmente impiegati nelle reti informatiche. Non sono presenti controlli utente.
